Our first game will be Dungeon Keeper.

In a realm where peace reigns, light shines everywhere and all the citizens are happy, an evil force has invaded the world and plans to bring it to its knees. Legions of monsters come forth from the demonic portals and the forces of good come in the realm's defense. Your job: Crush those goodie two shoes. Lead your hordes of darkness through 20 lvls of dungeon digging fun. Recruit monsters, dragons, demons, and the undead to wreak havoc on the world above. Build rooms such as lairs, hatcheries, libraries, to keep your monsters happy, well fed, and entertained. Train your monsters and build traps, doors, magical objects to push back the forces of good. Chant spells to hurl lightning or even possess your monsters and see the world from their perspective.

Lunar Silverstar Story Complete

A game for the playstation 1. It was on the saga and there is also a gameboy advanced version.

This is the story of a boy named Alex who has always wanted to be a hero. This is probably the first and best video game that followed the generic story line idea.

This game came out at approximately the same time as Civilisations 1.

Alpha Centauri

In the near future, Earth died. In a last ditch effort to save the human race, a single ship was sent to the closest star system in the hope that there was a planet capable of sustaining life. As the ship neared the planet, the captain was murdered. Suspisions arose amongst the crew and the ship broke up into 7 groups landing on the planet's surface. Each group has their own agenda, which group will you choose?

The game begins at this point. You must pick one of seven factions, each has their own socio/economic agenda as well as plans for the planet and the other factions. Much like civilisations, build your own army, expand, and conquor, or you can try and talk things out. In alpha centauri, you also have the ability to terraform the planet to your liking, building forests, rivers, mines, etc. But to much industrialisation can also lead to pollution and eventual, global warming and the problems that come with it. There is indiginous life on the planet, a type of plant that networks around the world becoming a single living entity. It can send little creatures much like white blood cells to eliminate "infections" in a very gruesome manner....

There are 4 ways to win. Crush your enemies, be friends with them, corner the economy, or learn to evolve to the next step...Link

Dungeon Keeper

This is a great game and I suspect that my copy won't work in vista. ( I know it won't ) so keep yourself a copy of XP around and dual boot until the cows come home. I LOVE this game and recommend it muchly.

Neverwinter Nights 2 ( and Neverwinter Nights it's predecessor )

I have the luxury of having played a lot of RPG's in my day. I say luxury because in a small town or large, the socialization that a game like this involved crossed all boundaries ( good ex. GUILD WARS ). That in itself meant good company where we put aside any opinions and just played in another world. My players trusted that the time would be well spent.

I appreciate the irony that I would lead an Alliance now that I think back on having been a Game Master all those years from pen and paper. I later bacame a game designer, alpha and beta tester, and main stream game player.

This game is culmination of what I consider to be some of my best memories as a Game Master ( DM in most closed circles <thanks Gary Gygax> ) and a player of varying skill.

Neverwinter Nights 2 is the update version of the original one and opened the door for WOW and GW. It was almost tied with UO and Everquest as first to market on MMORPG. Like GW, it had no cost to operate.

As a historical note, I ran ( and DM'ed ) a NWN server as early as 2002. Me and about 5 other people at my work played on Sundays (12 hour shifts) while we sat in the phone que waiting for tech calls to come in.

The creation of this game is not surprising since it does the most important thing I can think of for RPG's. It keeps you from having to dig through the rule books and just enjoy playing. We did love those tomes, and I still have them, but we did usually spend half our time fighting over what a proper call was on certain rules in the game, and ultimately, the DM had to pass the ruling.

This game does that on the fly. It is easy to 'pause' the game if the DM allows it, and modules can be created by members should the talent present itself.

There are heros and henchmen, and role playing is actually encouraged. The pvp can even be characters vs creatures. The DM can actually play the environment spawns. You can have multiple parties, and multiple dm's.

I am suggesting my core players contact me on this and I may open up a server and make a break in the monotony from GW. It is the best fun you can have for the least amount of money.

You can 'find' copies out there and this game does run on vista and windows 7. The latest 'module' released Dec 08 and the latest patched released this month. I recommend it for single play, and if you want a server of your peers, I can run a server and even DM.

It is LOTS of fun, and although not as MUCH eye candy as Guild Wars, the game itself is very very fun to just play. Having a real DM makes the game even more fun. You may not always be able to break aggro. You can play evil characters, and if you wanna 'pick' a pocket, you can.

Better not get caught!

Battle Assault 3

This is sort of a fighting game, really fun. Ive been playing it a lot recently. It follows the story of the first 2 seasons of Gundam SEED.

This week I recommend the game Vanguard Bandits. Its another mecha game, but this time it works in the turn base strategy system. Similar to D&D fighting styles, you follow the story of a young boy who has his father killed and he discovers that he is really a prince. 5 alternate endings and lots of replayability.

Fable II...

<Where has Asgard been putting his extra time>

Now you know... I love the game and to be fair, it is my first console game since the SNES so I am out of sorts over it.

It has great graphics, fun and interesting story line, and a nice engine for carnage when you have to swing the ol' steel around.

It has several exploits that are easily available, but the game itself is fun even after you 'max' out certain things like xp, or money.

The extra features are on the fable2 website, so I will spare you that, but I am thoroughly enjoying it, and my only downside is I burn out after 15 hours in a row of playing.

That and it steals time away from GW. Darn it.

It is a little mindless. An easy catch and release game to offer some break in the monotony of farming in GW should you need one.

Fallout 3...

The guys at Betheseda Soft are out of control. Playing this game on PC or Xbox makes no difference. This is to date the best, most immersion, vast, highly deefined Role Playing Game I have ever played that employs a first person shooter aspect. The graphic details ( provided you tv/monitor allows it ) is 1080P or 720P. The interface is clean and to the point.

I recommend this hugely addictive game for three basic reasons.

1) It is innovative as BS listened to it's users and made a decision to make the game what the players wanted to see.
2) It is sooo accurate in what to expect in the first person 'thriller' theme, that I found myself jumping in my seat on the 'pop ups'
3) It doesn't skimp on the nasty. The place is a wreck and you aren't supposed to win each day you play. You just do a little better.

I cannot say enough about it, and believe it or not, after about 60 hours of gameplay, I am NOT burned out. It is not a grind, and I am shocked to find a game like this.

Favorite things: picking locks, slo mo headshots, VATS, hacking terminals, MAKING cool new weapons. Nuka Cola.

I look to find you in the game!

Asgard
